Forge of Freedom Podcast: LEO Interactions Interview

I was honored to be invited onto the Forge of Freedom podcast, with host Alex Ooley to discuss a survey analyzing over 1,600 armed traffic stops and the insights gained from these interactions with law enforcement. In the interview we reference this research study I published a few weeks prior. Below I've embedded the audio podcast itself and at the very bottom of this page the video interview.

The conversation was friendly and took place during the 2025 NRA Annual Meetings in Atlanta. Alex and his father have a law practice in Indiana and are practicing firearm trainers.

Our conversation includes these topics:

  • Introduction to Concealed Carry and Law Enforcement Interactions
  • Survey Insights: Understanding Traffic Stops
  • Key Findings: Disarming Practices and Officer Behavior
  • The Duty to Inform: State Requirements and Misconceptions
  • Perceptions of Law Enforcement and Traffic Citations
  • Best Practices for Concealed Carriers During Traffic Stops
  • Traveling with a Concealed Weapon: State Variations
  • Recording Interactions: Legal Considerations and Safety
  • Conclusion and Resources for Concealed Carriers
